DURAKOOL DFC3-301 Datasheet & Stock

The DFC series Mercury Displacement Relay provides silent, reliable switching because of the unique properties of mercury as a contact material. It is virtually immune to breakage, corrosion or wear. The contacts enclosed in hermetically sealed steel containers, operates in a wide range of temperatures, under low or high pressures in dust or vapour filled atmospheres. It produces no external sparks and is unaffected by line noise or voltage spikes. Because of its long life, reliability and unique construction, this relay should be the first choice for applications where continued frequent switching would degrade mechanical devices. It is also a choice if unusual environmental conditions or unpredictable transients are expected or if replacement would be difficult. The basic design of Durakool relay is simplicity itself. An electrode (B), extends into the container through a hermetic seal which also electrically insulates the electrode from the container.

A volume of mercury is inside a stainless steel container, the wall of which is 1-pole circuit
