The AEMC 6550 is a fully automated 10,000 V graphical insulation tester designed for comprehensive electrical testing and measurement. Encased in a rugged, IP54-rated housing, it features a graphical LCD display for test results and configuration information, with data export capabilities via DataView® software. The device can operate on either battery or AC power during testing. It allows programming of up to three stepped voltage profiles—each with ten steps—and includes ramp profiles and three programmable test voltages, in addition to fixed voltages of 500, 1000, 2500, 5000, and 10,000 VDC. Key features include input voltage, frequency, and current detection; measurements at fixed voltages; ramp and step voltage testing; non-destructive early break tests; digital filtering; live voltage monitoring; programmable thresholds; timed measurement checks; fuse protection with display alerts; storage of up to 80,000 measurements; and USB communication for data transfer and reporting. Suitable for acceptance testing, preventive maintenance, motor, pump, valve, cable, switchgear, and electrical wiring testing, as well as resistance, dielectric absorption ratio, polarization index, insulation resistance, and long-term water-damaged installation assessments.
