The AEMC CA7028 Wire Mapper Pro® is a handheld structured cable tester designed for use on UTP, STP, FTP, and SSTP cabling with RJ-45 connectors. It detects common wiring faults such as open circuits, shorts, crossed wires, reversed pairs, split pairs, and shield faults. The device can measure and display the length of each cable pair, with the ability to set the velocity of propagation manually or from a built-in library. It features both graphical and digital fault reporting, an audible tone generator for cable tracing, and alarm functions for live voltage detection. Compatibility includes Category 6 cables and wiring standards such as TIA 568A/B, USOC, and ISDN. Additional features include remote identifiers for pass/fail status, and a high-visibility backlit display.
