The 2M801 high-speed series of connectors are designed for use in USB 3.0, eSATA, and other high-speed data bus applications where space is limited. These connectors feature fluoropolymer inserts optimized for high-speed performance, supporting multiple insert arrangements. They include plugs with either anti-decoupling or self-locking ratchet mechanisms, as well as Dual-Start ACME threads that enable full mating in just 1.5 turns. Both plugs and receptacles are available in two shell styles, with an integral banding platform for direct termination of EMI shielding or overmoulding. Rear threads are offered for attaching backshells and accessories. Contact termination options include crimp, PC tail, and solder cup. Typical applications include avionics, in-flight entertainment, small satellites, situational awareness systems, and tablets or heads-up displays. The use of fluoropolymer inserts allows for increased data rates within a compact 2M form factor, making these connectors a cost-effective solution for various high-speed protocols. They are compatible with all standard 2M backshells and accessories and can be configured with multiple termination styles.
