The S18UBAQ from Banner Engineering is an ultrasonic sensor featuring discrete output and TEACH-Mode programming. It emits one or multiple ultrasonic pulses that travel through the air at the speed of sound, reflecting off targets and returning to the sensor. The sensor measures the time taken for the pulses to travel to and from the target, providing accurate detection. It supports averaging multiple pulses for improved precision, with temperature compensation to account for variations in ambient conditions. The rugged design is suitable for harsh environments and operates over a wide temperature range of -20°C to +60°C. Key features include fast response time of 5ms, no potentiometer adjustments needed, short dead zone, and configurable normally open or normally closed output.
