Cornell Dubilier's Type MC and MCN multilayer RF capacitors provide rugged flexibility and compatibility with FR4 boards, making them suitable for demanding applications where cracking is a concern. Their natural mica dielectric retains high-Q performance to many megahertz, limiting frequency limitations to circuit inductance. Nonmagnetic Type MCN chips are available for MRI and other high-frequency applications. These capacitors are characterized by their high Q at UHF/VHF frequencies, thermal cracking resistance, wave solderability, and rock-stable performance across voltage and frequency variations. They find use in MRI coils, RF instruments, power amplifiers, tuned LCR circuits, CATV systems, ground and flight mobile radio, lasers, and software-defined frequency-hopping radio applications.
