The Keysight Technologies 33512B CAL DU waveform generator is a high-performance instrument featuring the 33500B series. It offers a 20 MHz, 2-channel waveform generation with arbitrary waveform capabilities, supporting sample rates from 1 µSa/s to 160 MSa/s and a resolution of 16 bits. Utilizing exclusive Trueform signal generation technology, it produces true point-by-point arbitrary waveforms with improved fidelity, less jitter, and greater resolution compared to traditional DDS generators. The device supports various operation modes including continuous, modulation, frequency sweep, burst, and output gating, along with multiple modulation types such as AM, FM, PM, FSK, BPSK, PWM, and sum modulation. It can generate sine, square, pulse, ramp, triangle, Gaussian noise, PRBS, and DC waveforms across a frequency range from microhertz to 20 or 30 MHz. The built-in arbitrary waveform generator includes support for specialized waveforms like cardiac, exponential rise and fall, Gaussian pulse, Haversine, Lorentzian, sinc, and negative ramp.
Additional features include calibration with uncertainty data, low harmonic distortion, fast edge times, and the ability to reproduce low-voltage signals accurately. The instrument conforms to safety standards such as UL 61010-1, CSA C22.2 61010-1, CE, and IEC 61010-1:2001. It includes a built-in web browser, standard deep memory, and high-stability time base options for enhanced accuracy. Connectivity options feature Ethernet (100/100Base-T with Sockets & VXI-11 protocol), USB 2.0 (USB-TMC488), GPIB/IEEE-488.1, and IEEE-488.2. The device supports comprehensive modulation sources, high amplitude resolution, and full bandwidth pulse generation. It is compatible with SCPI-1999 commands and IEEE-488.2 programming language standards, similar to models 33210A and 33220A. The instrument operates from 0°C to 55°C, is housed in a compact 2U x 1/2 rack width chassis, with dimensions approximately 261 x 104 x 303 mm (with bumpers) and weighs around 3.3 kg. Its power requirements are 100-240V, 50/60Hz or 100-120V, 400Hz.
Applications include testing and measurement tasks requiring precise waveform generation and modulation capabilities.
