The MAX3082ECSA+T is an ±15KV ESD-protected, fail-safe, slew rate-limited RS485/RS422 transceiver in an 8-pin NSOIC package. It includes one driver and one receiver. The device features fail-safe circuitry that outputs a logic high when receiver inputs are open or shorted, ensuring reliable data communication. It utilizes reduced slew rate drivers to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI) and prevent reflections caused by improperly terminated cables, enabling error-free data transmission up to 115 kbps. The transmitter output and receiver input are protected against ±15KV ESD using the human body model, with enhanced ESD protection. Typical supply current is 375 μA when unloaded or with drivers disabled. The transceiver's 1/8 unit load input impedance supports up to 256 transceivers on the bus. It operates with a supply voltage from 4.75V to 5.25V, within an ambient temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.
