The Microchip MCP9701A-E/TO is a family of analog temperature sensors that convert temperature to an analog voltage. These low-cost, low-power sensors feature an accuracy of ±2°C from 0°C to +70°C and consume 6 µA (typical) of operating current. Unlike thermistors, they don't require additional signal conditioning, simplifying circuit design. The output can be directly connected to a microcontroller's ADC, providing a cost-effective solution for temperature monitoring in applications such as hard disk drives, entertainment systems, and battery packs.
