The TC7660SEPA is a supercharge pump DC-to-DC voltage converter that efficiently converts input voltages from 1.5V to 12V into corresponding negative voltages ranging from -1.5V to -12V. It requires only two external capacitors, eliminating the need for inductors and reducing size and electromagnetic interference (EMI). The device features an extended supply range up to 12V and includes a frequency boost pin for higher operation frequencies, enabling the use of smaller external capacitors. It is a pin-compatible replacement for the industry-standard 7660 charge-pump converter. The onboard oscillator operates normally at 10kHz but can be increased to 45kHz by connecting pin 1 to the supply voltage (V+). An external capacitor from the oscillator pin to ground allows operation below 10kHz. Key features include high efficiency (up to 99.9%), low power consumption (around 80µA at 5V input), and no need for external high-voltage diodes. It is suitable for power management, signal processing, industrial automation, and process control applications.
