The NTAG I²C NFC forum Type-2 Tag integrated circuit features an energy harvesting capability, a field detection pin, and an I²C interface for communication with a microcontroller when powered externally. It is compliant with NFC standards and supports both contactless and contact interfaces, allowing seamless data transfer between RF and I²C. The device includes an externally powered SRAM for fast data exchange without EEPROM write cycle limitations, and can supply power to low-power external devices via energy harvesting. It supports NFC field presence detection, fast read operations, and has a communication range of up to 100mm. Additional features include a unique 7-byte serial number, data integrity checks with CRC and parity, and an RF wake-up mechanism triggered by activity at the field detection pin.
