The IC derives its start-up and operating power directly from the DRAIN pin voltage, eliminating the need for an external bias supply and allowing the use of low-cost discrete inductors. It features an automatic restart circuit to safely limit output power during fault conditions such as short circuits or open loads, reducing component count and system cost.
