The MP62TA00 is a 5/8-inch threaded magnetic pickup and inline preamplifier. It consists of a permanent magnet, pole-piece, and sensing coil encapsulated within a cylindrical case. When a magnetic target such as iron or steel passes near the pole-piece, it distorts the magnetic flux field, generating a voltage signal. The signal magnitude depends on the size, speed, and proximity of the target, while its polarity indicates whether the target is moving toward or away from the sensor. This magnetic pickup is commonly used for sensing gear teeth, sprockets, timing wheels, bolt heads, keyways, and other moving machine targets, primarily for tachometer and speed measurement applications. Features include self-generation requiring no external power, resistance to dirt, oil, and moisture, a minimum gear pitch of 24 DP, and an M12 connector. The operating temperature range is from -40°C to 107°C. Please note that signal leads should not be run in conduit or bundled with power/control lines, and lead length should not be extended.
