The evaluation kit is designed for testing the RAA489204 Li-ion battery pack analog front-end ICs. It monitors cell voltage and temperature, providing 14-bit digital readings, cell balancing control, and fault detection. The kit supports both standalone operation and daisy-chained configurations for testing larger systems. One board can manage up to 14 series-connected Li-ion cells via a USB interface to a PC. Multiple boards can be cascaded—up to 30—to test systems with up to 420 cells, using either capacitive or transformer-coupled daisy chain communication. The kit includes a voltage divider power supply, GPIO ports for temperature monitoring, and supports external thermistor inputs. It features a user-friendly GUI for logging register, voltage, and SPI communication data. Additional components include power supply boards, communication modules, cables, and a microcontroller dongle for Windows connectivity.
