The 196A1Z is a universal back plunger dial indicator featuring graduation scales of 0.001 inches and 0.02 millimeters, suitable for a wide range of measurement tasks. It has a shank diameter of 1/4 inch (6.3mm). The indicator comes with three hardened contact points allowing the user to select the appropriate contact for specific applications. To use, the contact is pressed against the workpiece with enough pressure to turn the hand one full rotation. The dial is then set to zero using the knurled bezel, enabling measurement of vertical variations by observing the dial's movement to the right or left of zero. The device provides one full rotation of the dial hand for easy reading of work height differences, making it one of the most versatile, accurate, and reliable indicators. It is simple to operate, durable with few moving parts, and features smooth operation.
