The device provides user-accessible clock data in the upper memory locations, including information such as century, year, month, date, day, hour, minute, and second in 24-hour BCD format, with automatic adjustments for leap years and month lengths. It includes a power-fail control circuit, automatic write protection, and a frequency test output for the RTC.
