The M48T58-70PC1 is an integrated, battery-backed static RAM and real-time clock solution. It features a non-volatile 8KB x 8 SRAM with an integrated quartz-controlled clock oscillator on a single silicon chip. The device provides user-accessible clock data in the upper memory locations, including information such as century, year, month, date, day, hour, minute, and second in 24-hour BCD format, with automatic adjustments for leap years and month lengths. It includes a power-fail control circuit, automatic write protection, and a frequency test output for the RTC. The module is designed for clock and timing applications, offers BYTEWIDE™ RAM-like clock access, and is compatible with various socket types, emulating non-volatile PROM functionalities without the need for specialized write timing.
