The Airpax AP series are fully sealed, magnetic circuit protectors designed to combine power switching with accurate and reliable circuit protection. Unlike thermal protectors, the AP series maintains a consistent trip current across a wide temperature range. Available in various versions (DC, 50/60Hz, or 400Hz) with adjustable delays, these protectors can be tailored to specific application requirements. A key feature is the “trip-free” action, which prevents continued circuit closure even when the handle is in the ON position. The AP series is suitable for communication, navigation, aircraft instrumentation, radar, and power supplies. The UP series, with UL and CSA certification, offers similar functionality and is approved for operation at various voltage and current levels. The AP-MIL protectors, manufactured to MIL-PRF-39019, undergo rigorous testing and are qualified for specific government applications. Multi-pole configurations are available, allowing for protection of multiple circuits with various combinations of series, shunt, and relay configurations.
