The Airpax AP series are fully sealed, magnetic circuit protectors designed to combine power switching with accurate and reliable circuit protection. Unlike thermal protectors, the AP maintains a consistent trip current across a wide temperature range. These protectors offer inverse time delays and a trip-free feature, ensuring safety and preventing continued operation during overloads. Available in DC, 50/60Hz, or 400Hz versions with various delays, they cater to specific application requirements. The 'trip-free' action ensures the circuit opens even when the handle is held in the ON position. Waterproof panel integrity is maintained through an O-ring bushing seal and a silicon rubber gland. Typical applications include communication, navigation, aircraft instrumentation, radar, and power supplies. The UP series, UL recognized and CSA certified, offers an optional FM approval for petrochemical applications. AP-MIL protectors adhere to MIL-PRF-39019 standards and undergo rigorous testing for quality assurance.
