The Airpax™ AP series are fully sealed, magnetic circuit protectors that combine power switching and accurate, reliable circuit protection with inverse time delays and trip-free features. Unlike thermal protectors, the AP maintains a consistent trip current regardless of temperature. Available in various versions and delays, they suit diverse application requirements. The 'trip-free' action ensures the circuit won't remain closed during an overload, even with the handle in the ON position. Waterproof integrity is achieved with an O-ring bushing seal and a silicon rubber gland. Typical applications include communication, navigation, aircraft instrumentation, radar, and power supplies. The UP series, UL and CSA certified, offers an optional FM approval for petrochemical applications. AP-MIL protectors adhere to MIL-PRF-39019 standards and undergo rigorous testing.
