The Hotwire kit is a wire tracing system designed for locating and testing wires in both 120V and 220VAC circuits. It includes the Hotwire Fox unit, which applies an RF tracing signal to the wire and features multiple tone options, continuity testing, line voltage testing, and various connection methods such as alligator clips and modular plugs. The Hotwire Hound, equipped with improved headlights, a shielded design to reduce feedback, a bandpass filter for noise suppression, an earphone jack, and adjustable sensitivity, detects and localizes RF signals in wiring such as telephone lines, LAN cables, security wires, and more. The Hound also features a safety conductive plastic tip for easier penetration and a metal tip, along with an easy-access battery compartment and indicator LEDs that show signal strength.
