The MIL-DTL-38999 Series I & II high-performance cylindrical connector features a low-profile 3-point bayonet coupling, designed for cable-to-panel I/O applications in military aerospace and other demanding environments. These environmental-rated connectors offer high-density insert arrangements and are available with crimp, removable contacts, PC tails, and solder cups. Manufactured by Glenair, they include lanyard-release variants, composite and specialty metal cable plugs and receptacles, and products equipped with coax contacts. Suitable for use in pressurized or severe environmental conditions, these connectors are hermetic, ensuring airtight and gas-tight sealing to prevent dielectric breakdown, corrosion, and insulation resistance loss. They are characterized by low shell-to-shell resistance, non-magnetic material, cadmium and hexavalent chromium-free finishes, a low coefficient of friction, resistance to potassium formate, and a maximum 2.5mV drop potential. They support over 500 mating cycles, feature non-self-locking olive drab finish, and have a sulfur dioxide resistance of up to 336 hours. Operating across temperatures from -55°C to 175°C, they are ideal for industrial, defense, military, aerospace, and avionics applications.
