The EJ1486 is a mild steel junction box designed for enclosing electrical and electronic equipment, providing protection in harsh environments. It is suitable for use as an instrument enclosure, control housing for electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems, electrical junction box, or terminal wiring enclosure. The box features a sleek design, making it suitable for high-tech installations. It includes a bonding stud on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure. The finish is a recoatable ANSI 61 smooth grey powder coating on both interior and exterior surfaces. The enclosure offers an IP66 and NEMA 3R, 4, 12, 13 protection rating. Constructed with a 16-gauge steel body and cover, it has smooth, continuously welded seams without knockouts, cut-outs, or holes. The formed lip helps keep out flowing liquids and contaminants. It features welded brackets for mounting and a continuously hinged, 304 stainless steel hinge that allows a 180° opening. Door latches require a tool and operate with quarter-turn slots, made from black zinc die-cast. A seamless poured-in-place gasket ensures a tight seal. Larger models include a removable galvanized inner panel for additional organization. Internal threaded weld studs are provided for mounting inner panels, along with grounding and panel mounting hardware. Applications include various industrial environments.
