It is made of tightly braided fiberglass with Class 240°C insulation, heat annealed to remove organic impurities and enhance handling. Its tan-colored, high-temperature resin dye provides additional fray resistance and stability for cutting and installation. This tubing is used as primary insulation in low-voltage applications such as appliance leads for toasters, hot plates, hand irons, coffee makers, and other devices operating at high temperatures. It can withstand temperatures up to 648°C (1200°F). Versatile, durable, and suitable for vacuum impregnation on stators and rotors, with a nominal wall thickness of 0.012 inches, operating between -60°C and 648°C.
