The MCP9701AT-E/LT is a linear active thermistor IC that converts temperature into an analog voltage output without the need for additional signal conditioning circuitry. Its VOUT pin can be directly connected to a microcontroller's ADC input. Designed for a temperature coefficient scaled to provide approximately 1°C per bit resolution with an 8-bit ADC and a 5V reference, the device offers an accuracy of ±1°C (typical) from +25°C to +70°C when measuring relative temperature changes. Calibration at +25°C can further improve accuracy. The device is also immune to the effects of parasitic capacitance and is capable of driving large capacitive loads, making it suitable for precise temperature measurement applications.
