The MC100ELT21DG is a differential PECL (Positive Emitter Coupled Logic) to TTL (Transistor-Transistor Logic) translator. It operates using PECL levels with only 5V power and ground, making it suitable for applications where space, performance, and low power consumption are critical. The device features an internally generated voltage supply pin called VBB, which is used as a switching reference voltage for single-ended inputs and can also rebias AC-coupled inputs. When utilizing VBB, it should be decoupled with a 0.01μF capacitor to VCC, and the current should be limited to 0.5mA. If VBB is not used, it should be left open. The 100 series incorporates temperature compensation for stability. The device's flow-through pinout allows easy interfacing, with the output defaulting to a low state when inputs are left open. It is primarily used in industrial applications.
