The MULTIGIG RT Series Tier-2 Connector is a high-density, high-performance interconnect designed for advanced electronic systems. It supports data transfer rates exceeding 6Gbps, with demonstrations reaching up to 10Gbps using standard FR-4 board material and routing techniques. The system offers versatile configurations, allowing the daughtercard to be tailored for differential, single-ended, open pin field, or power connections within a single module. All options connect seamlessly to a common backplane receptacle. The robust design features daughtercard plugs with a PCB wafer and backplane receptacles with an enclosed dual-beam contact system, providing multiple redundant contact points for high reliability. Available with 20.32 mm (0.8 inch) or 25.40 mm (1 inch) pitch spacing, it supports high-speed data transmission, high contact density (113 contacts per inch), and modular options for signal, power, keying, and guidance. Its optimized footprint, low noise levels, and ability to support differential pair widths of 6 mils with 9 mil spacing make it suitable for demanding applications in communications and networking.
