The 5KP series Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode is specifically designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients caused by lightning and other transient events. It offers a peak pulse power capability of 5000W at a 10x1000µs waveform. The device features a glass-passivated junction for reliability, excellent clamping capability to limit voltage surges, and low incremental surge resistance. It has a low duty cycle with a 0.01% repetition rate and a stand-off voltage of 12V IR. Additionally, it provides ESD protection for data lines in accordance with IEC 61000-4-2 and EFT protection according to IEC 61000-4-4. Available in both unidirectional and bidirectional versions, it operates within a junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C. Typical applications include computers and peripherals, communications and networking equipment, consumer electronics, and industrial systems.
