The MAX1735EUK25+T is a low dropout linear regulator capable of delivering 200mA with a negative output voltage in a 5-pin SOT-23 package. It operates from a input voltage range of -2.5V to -6.5V and provides a high-accuracy output voltage adjustable from -1.25V to -5.5V via an external resistor divider, or fixed at -2.5V in dual mode operation. The device features an internal N-channel MOSFET that offers a low quiescent current of approximately 85µA, making it highly suitable for battery-powered portable devices such as PDAs, mobile phones, cordless phones, and wireless data modems. Additional features include a low power shutdown mode (1nA), short circuit and thermal overload protection, and solid performance with a power supply rejection ratio of 60dB at 100Hz. Its stable operation is supported by a 1µF output capacitor, and it operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Typical applications include power management in disk drives, modems, instrumentation, mobile and cordless telephones, PCMCIA cards, GaAsFET biasing, portable wireless data modems, PDAs, and palmtop computers.
