It enables safe insertion and removal of circuit modules into live backplanes or ports without causing power glitches. The device monitors various circuit parameters and disconnects the load if a fault is detected, signaling the host via an active-low IFAULT output. During startup, an internal 2.2-ohm power FET regulates current between the backplane and the load to 280mA, then enhances to minimize on-resistance during normal operation. It features built-in safety protections, including thermal shutdown and internal switch protections. An enable input allows the host system to disconnect the load with a positive logic signal (3.3V or 5V). Suitable for applications such as IP phones, Power-over-LAN, remote power distribution, internet appliances, and network equipment.
