The Microchip Technology Inc. MCP3221 is a successive approximation A/D converter with 12-bit resolution, designed for low-power operation and versatile communication. It incorporates a 2-wire, I²C compatible interface, supporting both standard (100 kHz) and fast (400 kHz) modes, enabling communication with up to eight devices on a single bus. The MCP3221’s low conversion current and standby current, combined with its small SOT-23 package, make it ideal for battery-powered data acquisition systems, multi-zone monitoring, and portable test equipment. It provides excellent linearity with ±1 LSB differential non-linearity and ±2 LSB integral non-linearity, ensuring accurate and reliable data conversion.
