This device features an 8-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift register that feeds an 8-bit D-type storage register with eight 3-state outputs. Separate clock inputs are provided for both registers, configured as positive-edge triggered. When both clocks are connected, the shift register's state leads the storage register by one clock cycle. Additionally, the device includes an input protection circuit allowing voltages from 0 to 7V regardless of supply voltage, along with power-down protection on all inputs, high noise immunity, and low power dissipation.
