The DS1339AU+ is a low-current, I2C-compatible serial real-time clock in an 8-pin micro SOP package. It features low power consumption, with capacity to maintain accurate time and date information, including automatic adjustment for months with fewer than 31 days and leap-year correction up to the year 2200. The device provides seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year data, and supports both 12-hour and 24-hour formats with AM/PM indicators. It includes two programmable alarm functions and a configurable square wave output. A built-in power sense circuit detects power failures and switches seamlessly to a backup power supply, ensuring uninterrupted operation of timekeeping and alarms. Suitable for use in telecommunications, utility meters, vending machines, thermostats, and modems, the device operates over a voltage range from 1.71V to 5.5V with an optional backup supply from 1.3V to 3.7V. It is capable of functioning in temperatures from -40°C to 85°C, with low active and standby currents, and supports crystals with up to 60 kΩ ESR. The DS1339AU+ is a drop-in replacement for previous models, UL recognized, and supports voltage operation down to 1.15 V, with features for power failure detection and automatic charge management.
