The MAX485CUA+ is a low-power RS485/RS422 transceiver housed in an 8-pin µMAX package. It includes one driver and one receiver, with a slew rate not limited, enabling data transmission speeds of up to 2.5 Mbps. The driver features short circuit current limiting and thermal shutdown protection, which places the outputs in a high impedance state if excessive power is dissipated. It also has fail-safe circuitry that outputs a logic high when the receiver input is open. The device operates with a supply voltage between 4.75V and 5.25V and an ambient temperature range from 0°C to 70°C. Designed for half-duplex communication, it supports up to 32 transceivers on the bus and includes receiver and driver enable functions. Quiescent current is approximately 300 µA. Typical applications include industrial communication and networking systems.
