The MAX6947ATE+ is a 10-port, constant-current LED driver and I/O expander with PWM intensity control, housed in a 16-pin TQFN package. It features I2C/SMBus compatibility, providing microprocessors with 10 I/O ports rated up to 7V. Each port can be configured as a 2.5mA to 20mA or 1.25mA to 10mA constant-current LED driver, supporting static or PWM control. Ports can also serve as open-drain logic outputs or overvoltage-protected Schmitt trigger inputs. The device supports individual 8-bit PWM for LED brightness, one-bit analog current control per output, and a global 3-bit DAC for current regulation across all LEDs. It can stagger PWM signals in 45° phases to evenly distribute power supply load and reduce RMS current.
