The MAX989ESA+ is a dual, low-voltage, micropower rail-to-rail I/O comparator housed in an 8-pin NSOIC package. It features low power consumption, with operating voltages ranging from 2.5V to 5.5V, making it suitable for both 3V and 5V systems, as well as ±1.25V to ±2.75V dual supplies. The comparator's design minimizes supply current surges during switching and reduces supply glitches common in other comparators. It has a push-pull output stage capable of sourcing and sinking current, with internal drivers that support rail-to-rail output swings up to 8mA. The device is ideal for applications such as battery-powered systems, zero crossing detectors, window comparators, level translators, threshold detectors, ground or supply sensing, IR receivers, and digital line receivers. Its common-mode input voltage can extend 250mV beyond the supply rails.
